Kochi : Senior Congress leader and former longtime MLA, K Mohammed Ali has died aged 76. The end came at Aster Medicity Tuesday morning.
Mohammed Ali served as AICC member for a long time but has kept away from the party for a while now. He was son of A Kochunni and Nabeesa couple residing in Aluva’s Chitra Lane on Place Road.
Mohammed Ali won from Aluva constituency for a total 5 times and became part of the 6th, 7th, 8, 8, 10, and 11th Kerala Legislative Assembly.
Ali assumed various positions in Congress starting with KSU in 1966-68, Youth Congress(1968 - 72), Ernakulam District President, KPCC General Secretary (1972 - 75), DCC Vice President (1976), KPCC Working Committee member, AICC member(1973), MG University Senate member , Cusat Senate member, KTDC Director Board member and Kerala Sports Council member.
