Kottayam: Former Metropolitan of Malankara Syriac Orthodox Church, Mar Polycarpose Zacharias has passed away aged 52. The end came at St. Mary’s Hospital 9.30 am following cardiac arrest.
Mar Polycarpose Zacharias served on the advisory boards of various educational institutions including St Mary's College Meenangadi, St Peter's & St Paul's English Medium School and Aramaia International Residential School. The Metropolitan belonged to St. Mary’s Puthanapalli parish and hailed from Kochillam(Kurichi) family.
