Thiruvananthapuram : A resolution calling for Centre to provide free vaccines will be tabled in the Assembly today. The resolution will be presented by the Health Minister Veena George and will demand of Centre to supply doses in set timeframe and in required quantities.
The chief minister in recent days urged non-BJP state Chief Ministers to call for free vaccines from the centre. The state resolution is being passed in context of this demand.
CM had written to 11 states namely : Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Punjab, Rajasthan and Maharashtra
It is unfortunate that Centre washes its hands off the duty of supplying vaccines; With a third wave iminent, total immunization is an absolute essential for mitigating the disease, CM wrote in the letter.
