Web Desk(Tvm)Updated: Saturday Apr 2, 2022

Thiruvananthapuram : CPI(M) will hold demonstrations all over the state protesting the Centre’s incessant fuel hike that has plunged the public  into despair while already from the pandemic. Thousands will congregate at  Local Committee centres across the districts for the dharna(protest). Today’s protests follow the Central Committee’s call for nationwide protests against the backbreaking and relentless fuel cost hikes.

Fuel prices are being raised on everyday basis. Petrol that  cost just Rs 9.8 a litre before embracing the globalisation policy now stands at Rs 115 and diesel shot from Rs 4.8 to Rs 100 per litre in that time and not to mention the . LPG price, that got pulled up along the same steep with cost now figuring above Rs 1000 for domestic and Rs 2000 per commercial cylinder.

For a consumer state like Kerala,  this triggers all-round inflation and. CPI(M) dharnas today is reflective of the deep indignation felt across  communities.
