LDF Fulfills Promise; KPPL To Open Today

Kottayam : As siren rings out ushering in the new year, gates of Veloor paper factory s will pry open  reflecting Kerala’s hopes of future, as the company the Centre shuttered for sale roars its production machinery once again and  reinforces both the state government’s pro-people attitude and unwavering commitment. The sirens at Kerala Paper Products Ltd, former HNL, awaken after three-and-half years. When up on auction, the Kerala government grabbed the bid for  Rs 146 crores.

Accomplishment today marks honouring another of LDF’s  promise to the people. Expansion to the tune of Rs 1200 will be carried out. Repairs and maintenance works of machinery are being done on Saturday. The factory will commence production in five months from now. Products include newsprint, tissue paper, art paper and so forth. Goal is to accomplish Rs 3200 crore in sale revenue by four years.

Renovation works are being carried out supervised by KINFRA. The work planning will be done for directly by the Minister for Industries, P. Rajeev.  KPPL will  provide jobs for over 3000 people. Formerly, HNL ran with 250 permanent employees and 200 contract workers. Government’s Rubber Park too is slated to come up at this place.. In a year from now, KPPL is set o  become a robust public sector entity.
