Kottayam : Nine girls, including POCSO victims, go inexplicably missing at a private shelter home in Kottayam’s Manganam. The home is run by an NGO, Samakya.
The girls were noticed missing by staff who went to wake them up in the morning. The missing girls include sexual and drug abuse victims and typically are lodged here owing to disturbed conditions back home.
The inmates are aroused from sleep by the staff at 5.30 each morning, the time on round today when the nine were found missing. The shelter home is located in stations limits of Kottayam East and Mananamkuzhy police. An intense search has been launched for the girls, who are on their own and vulnerable.
