The bag, which was opened in the presence of Additional Court judge, contained laptop and CDs among other things The contents were recorded, listed and the court granted NIA its nod to inspect all of it.
As soon as the diplomatic gold smuggling operation derailed, Sandeep filled all crucial records into his bag and left Thiruvananthapuram. Apart from the laptop, the bag contained paper files and bank records. The probe officers found passbooks and documents related to at least ten different banks, and records showing private money transactions and agreements thereof. The bag also contained documents on real estate deals, title deeds(aadharam) to several properties including houses, and rental agreements towards shops let out at various places. There were also a number of seals found in the bag.
Lawyers representing both NIA and Sandeep were present, as the items were listed on official record of evidences.
