Thiruvananthapuram : Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan today said that, govt is set to appeal against the recent court verdict on Walayar molestation case, in which 2 minor girls were raped and eventually committed suicide.
The accused were expected to be punished and their acquittal is a matter of grave concern, he added.
Govt will look to see if added investigations might be needed and even consider CBI probe if required, Pinarayi clarified. An expert lawyer will be engaged for further proceedings, he added.
Slamming opposition's claim of government intervention, the minister said, the blame was baseless.
CM was responding to opposition demand for CBI investigation in the Assembly on Monday.
The Case
