Malappuram : The National Investigation Agency(NIA) confiscated Green Valley Academy in Manjeri which it said doubles up as training centre of the Popular Front of India(PFI). According to the NIA, the NDF and PFI conduct their weapons training here. The building is located in a premise sprawling 10 hectares.
The academy building, according to NIA, was initially used by National Development Front(NDF) cadre which later merged with the PFI. The seizing of the structure was led by Chief Inspector Umesh Raia from the NIA Kochi unit. The premise served as main weapons training centre including handling of explosives, said NIA.
This is the sixth PFI weapons training centre to be seized by NIA in Kerala and the 18th nationwide post the ban of PFI. Earlier confiscations include Malabar House, Periyar Valley, Valluvanad House, Karunya Charitable Trust and, Trivandrum Education and Service Trust
While processing the building earlier, NIA took with them books and mobile phones from the academy’s library and reportedly found incriminating links between the arrested PFI leaders and establishment. The confiscation comes consequent to this finding.
