Malappuram : Police in Malappuram arrested two Ernakulam natives while attempting to transport havala money worth Rs 1.5 crores in their car. With this, havala bust seizures crossed Rs 4 crores in the past 4 days alone.
The current cache came following a tip-off received by the district police chief. Cops who waved the car down found the contraband stacked in a secret chamber attached below the seats. Arrested with the illicit ware are Raju and Anil, both natives of Ernakulam.
Last week cops seized illicit currency consignment at Valancheri and Perintahalmanni with investigations to piece the racketeers still in progress.
