The torrential downpours accompanied by strong winds that began 11.30 Tuesday night caused largest damage in the Kozhikode city limits. Fallen trees blocked roads at several places including  Puthuvangadi, East Hill House,  Kamburam, Kovoor, Malikadavu, Karuvisserry bypass and Fatima Hospital area. As a result, traffic and electricity in these places are disrupted.

Low lying areas and roads have been inundated. The coasts in these districts were pounded from incursions from the sea. In Wayanad, a tree crashed onto  a housetop at Thollakara colony killing a six-year-old girl. The victim, Jyothi, was Babu’s daughter, who also suffered serious injuries in the devastation.
