Thiruvananthapuram : The IMD has forecast heavy rains in the state for next five days and except for Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod 11 districts are put on Yellow Alert.

28.11.21 : Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur

Heavy rains mean rainfall gauging between 64.5 – 115.5 mm. Although IMD has instructed Yellow Alert for the several districts, with possibility of hilly regions witnessing severe rains accompanied by lighting and thunder, areas that came under heavy rainfall lately have been put on Orange Alert.
New depression is likely building over south west Bay of Bengal that could travel north west by coasts of Sri Lanka and then coastal Tamil Nadu. Chances of of cyclone too looms in Arabian sea. IMD’s forecast for Kerala says heavy rains across state with severe rainfall in isolated places.
