Thiruvananthapuram : As heavy downpours continue to pound the State, the IMD issued Red Alert for two districts, namely Kannur and Kasaragod. Districts of Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad districts are on Orange Alert. Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha and Kottayam districts are on Yellow Alert.
People are advised caution with chances of accidents rising owing to heavy rainfall. The state is witnessing heavy rains for days now and authorities warn of possible landslides, mudslides, water rush at hills and flooding in low-lying areas and cities.
