Malampuzha : An Air Force helicopter flew Babu down the treacherous mountain where he was trapped amid trekking before being saved by a rescue team of the Indian Army. The craft with Babu landed at helipad in Kanjikode, where he was moved to a waiting ambulance and shifted to Palakkad District Hospital.
When found, Babu showed symptoms of dehydration without food or water over two days. In the fall from atop, Babu also sustained injuries to his legs.
Rescuers from the army reached Babu at 9.30 am and hauled him out to safety forty minutes from then. The rescuers first gave him food and water, then strapped him with safety belt before retrieving him outside. A soldier named Bala from the rescue team reached Babu at the tricky spot. He was allowed to rest a while before being guided up the mountain.
