Thiruvananthapuram : Publishing of High Court verdicts in Malayalam has been a great accomplishment and outcome of longstanding efforts, said Law Minister P Rajeev. Back in 2021, vital decisions were adopted at the high-level meeting chaired by the Chief Minister with regard to making Malayalam the language of court. It was observed that posts for 222 translators would be essential to make Malayalam the court language and convert judgments to Malayalam. 50 posts were created in this regard. 267 Central laws have been translated since and translations of 40 other are presently in varied stages.
Of the State laws, 1481 were translated to Malayalam. The High Court verdicts in Malayalam comes at the end of all these endeavours, said P. Rajeev, adding that, the Kerala High Court is also the country’s role model in terms of computerization of court proceedings.
