Thiruvananthapuram : Both, cost of SilverLine project and passenger ticket rate, are far below Kerala High-speed Rail Corridor project proposed by E Sreedharan’s DMRC formerly. The DPR for Kerala High Speed Rail Corridor was prepared in by DMRC in 2016 when E Sreedharan served as its Chief Administrator.  The comparative costs were scrutinised side by side  while studying all project plan proposals on parallel toward preparing DPR for SilverLine. The Traffic and Transportation study report was prepared by Emacus in 2017 on behalf  ofHigh Speed Rail Corridor was examined for the purpose.

The High Speed Project quote stood at Rs 1.08 lakh crore and its rate for passenger ticketing at Rs 5 per kilometer. By comparison, SilverLine costs come Rs 63,940.67 crore and passengers would be charged just Rs 2.75 per km in fare. Although, E Sreedharan was supportive of SilverLine, the metroman changed his stand for   political reasons and has taken to spreading false propaganda against the project.
