Kumili : Relying on Congress alone will not produce national alternative, said CPI(M) State Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, speaking to news reporters in Kumili.
The all-important thing countrywide is to be defeating BJP . Regional parties are a decisive factor toward this goal. Speaking favourably of Congress will not help the Left surge being witnessed in the state. With Thrikkakara byelections on the threshold, pro-Congress talk would not be exactly beneficial.
11 states in the country have non-BJP regional parties going strong. Of these, only three have Congress in power. Given the circumstance, it would not be practical to create a national alternative by sidelining regional parties, said Kodiyeri.
