Palakkad : Fire broke out at Hill View hotel in Mannarcaud’s Nellipuzha killing two including a woman. The victims were identified as Malappuram Thalakuthar native Muhammad Basheer(58( and Pattambi native Pushpalatha(42). Two others sustained injuries in the accident.
Fire originated from kitchen located in ground floor of the hotel, at 3 am dawn today. The deceased were stranded in the upper storey of the hotel and though helped out of the building by fire officials, they succumbed to death shortly after. . A major disaster was averted with fire fighters being able to evacuate all other occupants of the hotel. The blaze was brought under control in a while. .
Police suspect short circuit might have caused the fire and have intiated probe into the incident.
