In No Mood For More Criticism, Mullappally Keeps Out Of KPCC Meeting

Thiruvananthapruam: After huge election debacle in Assembly elections, Mullapally Ramachandran has largely abstained  from attending UDF’s coordination meetings. Mulappally's stand is owing to  several Congressmen  attempting to place the onus of defeat squarely  on his shoulders. On record however, Mullappally downplayed his boycott saying he wrote to High Command expressing  willingness to quit his post and hence it  would be inappropriate to take part in  the current meetings.

Mullappally  told his close aides that after being slammed by party members on one hand, he was not prepared  to bear onslaught from the allies too. Incidentally, the ongoing KPCC meeting will also hold discussions to select the next UDF Chairperson. When a section from  UDF came up with scathing criticisms against Mullappally, Chennithala rose to his  defense  via a FB post lauding Mullappally for his commendable efforts and length of service to the party. The retrospect is widely viewed as beginnings of a new group in the making.

Meanwhile a couple of  supporters have showed up in front of KPCC headquarters with posters pitching for K Sudhakaran as KPCC’s  next president. Their board reads “Call  in Sudhakaran. Save Congress”. The ddemonstors are 3  Congress workers from Erattupetta.
