Thiruvananthapuram: : The infringement notice against finance minister Thomas Isaac has been handed over the Ethics Committee, Speaker P Sreeramakrishnan told the House on Wednesday.
Upon receipt, the complaint was scrutinised and minister asked for his opinion on the subject, to which he responded with written reply. Based on the response, the matter was forwarded to the Privilege and Ethics Committee. The committee will decide on further course of action in this regard. A few things mentioned in the complaint are factual.
The order of things mentioned in the CAG report, steps taken to table it in the Assembly, court rulings related to government and all such matters will be examined. Let an Assembly committee hear both sides and arrive at a decision This is why the matter has been turned over to the Ethics Committee, said the Speaker.
The complaint originated from Congress MLA V. D. Satheesan who accused Thomas Isaac of infringement charges for allegedly leaking CAG report contents to the media.
