Kottayam : INTUC workers held demonstratin in protest against Opposition Leader VD Satheesan in Kottayam, burning his effigy, over Thursday comment that INTUC was not Congress’s feeder organisation.
VD Satheesan’s dismissal of INTUC as party’s own came after the 2-day bandh that ended Tuesday. The trade union is not obligated to listen to congress, Satheesan had said further in the comment.
The protest demonstration led by INTUC Working Committee member, PP Thomas, was carried out by workers from Changanassery market.
The march took off from Market and advanced up to Central Junction. The demonstration was largescale that saw participation from hundreds of workers.
