Kozhikode : In the latest of Jamaat-e-Islami fake series, the party claimed detention camps are being set up in state by the government on instructions from the centre. The false claim was touted in its party newspaper last week and said the Social Justice Director had re-issued notification for detention camps to be built in Thiruvananthapuram and Thrissur marking the beginnings of Citizenship Amendment Act(CAA) in state.
Transit centres are being built for foreigner prisoners freed from prisons - a facility based on orders of the High Court. The ruling came over court observation that people who have served their jail convictions should not be made to languish with live convicts in jail.
At such centres, the court also asked for segregation with special surveillance of undocumented foreigners and those awaiting legal procedures to return to their home countries. The Social Justice Department had clarified the court order as being ground for building of transit care centres in state and further that the facility was in no way related to CAA. However, Jamaat-e-Islami has, with malicious intent, omitted overbearing the court order aspect to propagate the activity as a state government initiative.
