Justice Ashish J Desai Set To Be New Chief Justice of Kerala

New Delhi : The Supreme Court Collegium recommended Justice Ashish J Desai, a judge at Gujarat High Court, for appointment as Chief Justice of Kerala High Court. He was initially lawyer at City Civil and Sessions Court in Ahmedabad and later at Gujarat High Court.

Justice Ashish became Additional Judge at Gujarat High Court in 2011 and then a permanent judge in 2013. He was appointed as Acting Chief Justice of Gujarat High Court on February 26, this year. He will assume office as the 38th Chief Justice of Kerala High Court, soon as the government issues appointment Order.

The Supreme Court Collegium also recommended new Chief Justices for High Courts in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Manipur, Telangana and Gujarat.
