Thiruvananthapura> Justice Nidhin Madhukar Jamdar was sworn in as the Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court. The ceremony took place at the Raj Bhavan in Thiruvananthapuram, where Governor Arif Mohammed Khan administered the oath. Chief Minister, the Leader of the Opposition was also present during the swaring in ceremony.
On September 21, the central government issued an order appointing Nidhin Madhukar Jamdar as the Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court. The appointment was delayed as the central government did not approve the recommendation made by the Supreme Court collegium on July 11. Recently, the Supreme Court sharply criticized the central government's indifference and confirmed that there would be no changes to the recommendation. Shortly thereafter, the government approved the appointment of Justice Nidhin Jamdar and others.
Justice Jamdar was appointed as a judge of the Bombay High Court on January 23, 2012. He is a legal luminary in administrative and constitutional law and played a pivotal role in computerizing the Bombay High Court and championed digitization. He is also passionate about natural history and photography.
