Kochi : In the wake of High Court ruling that petition challenging K Babu’s election victory in Thrikkakara can be maintained, the petitioner M Swaraj files caveat plea with the Supreme Court. The plea urges the apex court to hear Swaraj’s side when considering K Babu’s appeal against the High Court r ruling.
The High Court gave its judgment on K Babu’s objection plea on the 31st of March. In its interim verdict , the High Court ruled that suit over having used religious symbol during election campaign ,would be sustained. In the petition, M Swaraj pled to quash K Babu’s election win and declare him as the legitimate winner. The High Court allowed 3-weeks time for K Babu and other respondents, to respond to the ruling and scheduled next hearing of the case to 24 May.
