Thiruvananthauram : Son Prajith and daughter Preethi of the deceased Congress leader V Prahapachandran submitted complaint to the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, urging to consider their complaint once again stating that Prathapchandran died owing to mental torture inflicted by some Congress leaders.
Prajith and Preethi had withdrawn their first complaint after KPCC president K Sudhakaran promised them justice. However, once the complaint ceased, so did Sudhakaran’s promise, the siblings said.
Prathapachandran's sudden death is a direct result of mental torture and false propaganda of corruption touted by some Congress leaders and KPCC’s CUC group, said Prajith and Preethi in their complaint with the DGP. When news of this broke, K Sudhakaran promised to take stringent action against those guilty and had the complaint withdrawn.
K Sudhakaran’s has since changed his stance and now says the complaint is baseless and no action is possible against anyone, said Prathapchandran’s son Prajith in his interview with Deshabhimani.
“It is I who relaunched Prathapachandran. A complaint at this point will put me into trouble. Rest assured, no person who harassed Prathapan will last in the Party or KPCC” – thus ran K Sudhakaran’s promise urging to withdraw the complaint, said Prajith.
The complaint was withdrawn but, Sudhakaran betrayed our trust. The General Secretary in charge of KPCC office and the CUC group members are protecting those who spread slanderous rumours against father. Sudhakaran's stand is now confrontational and says “Do what you can. Let’s see”, said Prajith, adding that he had been to Sudhakaran’s residence folliowing phone call from his PRO Ajith to come over.
There were rumours from the very start that KPCC General Secretary GS Babu, CUC members Rameshan Kavil and Pradeep along with Sudhakaran were behind the slander campaigns unleashed against Pratapchandran. Ater Prathapachandra's unexpected death, there emerged news of how he had questioned dubious activities of the CUC and their extravagant spending.
Prathapchandran is the son of former KPCC president and minister Varadarajan Nair. Prathapachandran was found dead inside his house on December 20.
