Kottayam : It is not right to speak in a way that creates regional divides, said CPI(M) State Secretary MV Govindan. He was responding to K Sudhakaran’s demeaning of Kerala’s southerners.
A person is not evaluated based on his southern or northern orientation. Rather, it is attitude of a person that speaks what he is. It should be endeavoured to stand people united rather than splitting them with tags, said MV Govindan.
Context : In an interview, K Sudhkaran said politicians from south Kerala are untrustworthy To make his point, Sudhakaran distorted a Ramayana tale saying, when Pushpak Viman carrying Ram, Laxman and Sita passed over southern tip of Kerala, Laxman fantasised throwing Ram off board and having Sita to himself. When the craft landed in Thrissur, Laxman confessed to his momentary urge, to which Ram said, the fault was not his but rather of the place they passed over at the time.
