Kozhikode : Despite vociferous claims of CM having links to Swapna Suresh - one of the main accused in gold smuggling case - BJP state president K Surendran evaded replying to reporters at Kozhikode when asked about any kind evidence that might have been unearthed by Customs officials to the effect.
Surendran recently told media that Swapna made calls to Customs staff from the telephone at CM’s office. Customs however denied finding any such record in their probe.
Surendran’s previous claims also include imagination that there was a customs official trying to save CPI(M) in the case. He also accused Speaker P Sriramkrinshanan of having links to the gang, saying their presence Loka Kerala Sabha meet was proof. CM’s removal of principal secretary Shivasankar indicates latter’s role in the racket, Surendran had said.
