Unlawful Congregation: K Surendran Booked For Violating Prohibitory Orders

Chathanoor: Police registered  case against  BJP state president, K Surendran,  for hosting a meeting of more than 200 people , in gross violation to  state’s prohibitory orders aimed to rein in rising pandemic.  Also named in the case are,  the party’s district president BB Gopakumar and 100 others.

The meeting in question was held amid prohibitory order clamped across the state and  conducted at Rotary Club hall in Uramvila. Attendees including party leaders had crammed into the hall that had  a seating-capacity of just 70. Worse, people  from hard-hit areas including Paravur, Kalluvathukasl and Chathanoor constinuency also formed part of the thick  crowd.

Among arraigned  by police  in the incident are : BJP state secretary Rajeev Prasad and district secretary Velliman Dileep.
