Kochi: There were no  NCP leaders or prior followers to trail  Mani C Kappan's uncermonious   exit to  UDF. All of party’s state   leaders including party’s state president, TP Pitambaran Master, denounced Kappan’s decision.  Responses across 14 districts crumbled  Kappan’s boast of 7 district presidents on side with him. The sole exception is Kottayam district president who was appointed to the post as Kappan’s  nominee. No other leader in the district took to that view and  NCP workers in Pala held demonstrations over what they termed was gross deceit on part of Kappan.

In Kottayam, NCP will stand steadfast by LDF, said state secretary and KSFE Director K Ananadakuttan. 9 mandala committees in the district reiterated that stand. Kappan had betrayed LDF and NCP, said NCP leaders in Kottayam, a sentiment that triggered  protest demonstrations in Pala.

In Idukki, the district president, Anil Kumar,  endorsed the district committee’s decision to stand by LDF adding that, a meeting held recently had affirmed that no body would trail after Kappan in exit. Kappan has triggered unnecessary debates even as party prepares to commence seat-haring talks. The party’s chief aim is to ensure LDF’s continued rule in state, he added.
