Thiruvananthapuram : After continously recording losses, Keltron Component Complex Ltd(KCCL) turned profitable for the first time since 2017-2018, said Industries Minister P Rajeev. KCCL ranks among top Indian companies in capacitor manufacturing sector, said the minister in response to query raised by M Vinjun MLA on Tuesday.
The company registered net profit of Rs 52.05 lakhs in 2017-2018, Rs 101.68 lakhs in 2018-2019, Rs 279.26 lakhs in 2019-2020 and Rs 12 lakhs in fiscal year of 2020-2021 so far. The government in its last term had commissioned two projects towards overall development and diversification of the company operations.
Commissioned by the government were a 4-crore MPP capacitor manufacturing unit in 2017 and another MPP capacitor manufacturing unit costing Rs 2 core in 2021. Also set is the premises was Dr.KPP Nambiar Electronics Research Development Centre(KPP Nambiar Memorial) .
The company aims to meet its goal for increased production capacity and product diversification via its master plan titled “Mission 2030” comprising schemes for following :
1) Super capacitor manufacturing
2) SMD(surface mount) Capacitor/Resistor manufacturing
3) Active Electronics Components(Diode, Thyristor, Power IC etc) manufacturing
The company targets to achieve higher revenue generation through these projects. The expansions will also render added job opportunities, said Minister Rajeev.
