Thiruvananthapuram ; Inspections at industrial sites is about to get easier and more transparent with a centralized system – Kerala Central Inspection(K-CS) – coming into being, said Industries Minister P. Rajeev. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the NIC-designed portal today, Friday 10.30 am. The system integrates factories and boilers, jobs and legal metrology into its ambit.
Departments of Health, Fire Force, Ground Water will form part of the new system. Inspections of three kinds will be carried out via the portal namely - pre-commencement scrutiny for businesses, routine and complaint-based inspections. The portal will list beforehand, the name of the business unit to be inspected, names of the visiting officials etc. A notice of inspection will be intimated to the concerned business via registered SMS and email. The inspection report will be published within 48 hours of its conclusion. Entrepreneurs wishing to set up businesses may apply through the portal for pre-commencement inspection. The portal will show history of all inspections carried out for any given enterprise, said P. Rajeev. CII described the system as country’s best single-window portal and is preparing to make investments in Kerala, the minister added.
