Kerala Confirms 2nd Coronavirus; Person’s Identity, Whereabouts Withheld

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : A second person tested positive for the deadly coronavirus in Kerala on Saturday. The man, who flew in from China, is being treated at the hospital, where his condition is not critical, said sources at Home Ministry. However the person’s identity or that  of the hospital providing him care, is not being disclosed.

 

Meanwhile, the girl down with the virus at Thrissur Medical College has started speaking, eating food and walking around. Throat pain and cough is also considerably reduced.  Blood sample from the girl has been dispatched for a second test. Further course of treatment will be decided up on receiving the results.69 people who have had some kind of contact with the girl, have been placed under observation. Of them, 37 are those who dealt with the girl closely.

In Thrissur 133 people in their homes and 21 in different hospitals, remain under surveillance. 5 more samples have been send for coronavirus tests from the district, in the weekend. For faster test results, a team from Pune Virology Institute will arrive to work from  Virology Institute in Alappuzha.
