Thiruvananthapuram :The state recorded 29,673 fresh Covid-19 cases today taking the total confirmed cases so far in the pandemic to 22,40,786 Total recoveries up to now figures at 19,79,919. A total of 3,06,346 persons remain under treatment currently.
The new infections today include 215 cases pertaining to travelers from states outside and 129 health workers.
No traveler from UK, South Africa or Brazil was diagnosed with covid-19 in the past 24 hours. Total covid caseload pertaining to incomers from UK figures at 115, South Africa 8 and Brazil 1. Of them, 11 were infected with the variant types.
Testing : 1,85,55,023 samples have been subject to testing in the pandemic so far, - up by 1,33,556 in the past 24 hours. The test positivity rate today figured at 22.22 %.
Deaths : There were 142 covid deaths confirmed during the day taking the death toll so far to 6994.

Quarantine: A total of 9,88,009 people are under observation currently of whom, 38,709 remain quarantined various hospitals and the remaining 9,49,300 are being monitored in their homes/institutions. 3524 people were newly admitted into hospitals during today for observation purposes.
Hotspots: There were 7 new hotspots declared today, while 1 area was taken off the list. Total hotspots currently in the state : 873.
