Thiruvananthapuram : The state recorded 12,300 fresh Covid-19 cases today taking the total confirmed cases so far in the pandemic to 25,26,579 Total recoveries up to now figures at 23,10,385. A total of 2,06,982 persons remain under treatment currently.
The new infections today include 69 cases pertaining to travelers from states outside and 56 health workers.
No traveler from UK, South Africa or Brazil was diagnosed with covid-19 in the past 24 hours. Total covid caseload pertaining to incomers from UK figures at 116, South Africa 9 and Brazil 1. Of them, 11 were infected with the variant types.
Testing : 89,345 samples were tested in the past 24 hours raising the total tested samples in the pandemic so far to 1,97,95,928 The test positivity rate for the day is 13.77%
Deaths : There were 174 covid deaths confirmed during the day taking the death toll so far to 8815

Quarantine: A total of 7,88,202 people are under observation currently of whom, 38,377 remain quarantined various hospitals and the remaining 7,49,825 are being monitored in their homes/institutions. 2881 people were newly admitted into hospitals during today for observation purposes.
Hotspots: There were no new hotspots declared today, while 2 areas were taken off the list. Total hotspots currently in the state : 885.
