Thiruvananthapuram :The state recorded 35,013 fresh Covid-19 cases today taking the total confirmed cases so far in the pandemic to 14,58,768 Total recoveries up to now figures at 12,23,185 . A total of 2,66,646 persons remain under treatment currently.
The new infections today include 27 cases pertaining to travelers from states outside and 97 health workers.
No traveler from UK, South Africa or Brazil was diagnosed with covid-19 in the past 24 hours. Total covid caseload pertaining to incomers from UK figures at 116, of which 11 are the mutated variant type, 7 travelers from South Africa and 1 from Brazil have tested positive for coronavirus so far
Testing : 1,54,92,489 samples have been subject to testing in the pandemic so far, - up by 1,38,190 in the past 24 hours. The test positivity rate today figured at 25.34 %.
Deaths : There were 41 covid deaths confirmed during the day taking the death toll so far to 5,211

Quarantine: A total of 5,51,133 people are under observation currently of whom, 22,726 remain quarantined various hospitals and the remaining 5,28,407 are being monitored in their homes/institutions. 4,436 people were newly admitted into hospitals during today for observation purposes.
Hotspots: There were 11 new hotspots declared today, while 2 areas were taken off the list. Total hotspots currently in the state : 597.
