Thiruvananthapuram : A phone recording indicates Mithiraj - murdered by Congress miscreants on last Saturday night -  received constant threats to his life.

In the audio, Mithiraj is heard telling that that Unni - one of the key accused - threatened to do away with him if he refused to leave CPI(M). In the recording he also talks of Unni’s threat to trap him in fake cases. The  conversation is between Mithiraj and his friend Hashir, the recording of which was obtained by Kairali TV and broadcast in its news hour.

INTUC Mandalam President, Madhpuram Unni referred to by Mithiraj in the audio,  has a history of criminal cases. In the phone conversation, Mithiraj recounts Unni’s threat to implicate him in the flagpole vandalising  case and suggest for him to meet with another person who left CPI(M). In the audio, Mithiraj is also heard clarifying  that he would not give in to such threats.

Unni began to make death threats since murder attempt on Faisal’s life  on eve of Eid, Mithiraj tells Shahir in the conversation. The audio clip will prove to be a crucial piece of evidence in the investigations that is increasingly indicative of Congress conspiracy in the gruesome double murder.
