Thiruvananthapuram : With test positivity rate yet to lower to expected mark of below 10%, the government today announced an extension to ongoing lockdown, due for expiry on Wednesday, by yet another week i.e. up to the 16th. The weekend days of Saturday and Sunday will see stricter checks with total lockdown through the state, said Chief Minister.
Shops selling essentials, packaging and manufacturing units may remain open in line with ongoing timings and so could banks on their alternative days of Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Stationery, jewelry, footwear outlets, textile and opticals may sell their ware on Friday (11th June) starting 7 am to 7 pm evening.
All government and semi-govt establishments public sector units, corporations, commissions and so forth shall work commence working from 17th, but on half their staff strength.
