Welfare Pension Rs 1500 From Jan; Free Ration Kits For 4 More Months; Phase- 2 of 100-Day 100-Projects Announced

Thiruvananthapuram ; Thiru: All projects promised in the election manifesto have been completed -  a proud feat accomplished by the LDF government, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan at press meet on Thursday.  Announcing phase-2  of 100-day 100-projects, CM said that 570 projects of the total 600 under phase-1 have been completed.

The social security pension from January  would climb to Rs 1500 an increase of Rs 100 on the earlier amount. The welfare pension was a mere Rs 600 when Left assumed power four years ago. Free kits distribution to ration card holders will be extended to four more months, CM announced. Over 80 lakh  families are beneficiaries to free kits.

The LDF govt launched the 100-day 100 projects programme after it completed all projects promised in its election manifesto. The second phase of 100-day 100-projects programme began on 9th December. However, the announcement was put-off owing to prevalence of  model conduct related to local body elections. It is aimed to complete projects to the tune of Rs 15 crores in the second phase. 526 projects costing Rs 5700 crores have been completed so far.  646 projects have been launched so far in  the programme.

Inauguration of 9 business enterprises will be done on 31st March. The first phase of KFON project will be inaugurated in early February. 15,000 more houses will be allowed under LIFE mission. Construction will commence for 35,000 houses thereby . There will  101  flat complexes built in  the 3rd phase of LIFE mission,

Once thought to have been impossible, the Gail project has attained completion and will be inaugurated by Chief Minister on the 5th of January.

The govt will make interventions to ease current stagnancy in economy. Over 15,000 job opportunities will be ensured from activities funded by borrowings from Kerala Bank and primary co-operative banks.

It has been possible to generate twice the planned employment numbers up to now, with 1,16,440 job generated since coming to power of this govt. 183 Kudumbasree eateries have been set up. Around 9  more enterprises will be inaugurated before 31st of March.

Extraordinary decisions were taken as part of government’s initiative to to strengthen the agricultural sector. Base prices were fixed for vegetables unlike any other place. Implementing royalty or paddy produce was another decision of such kind.. We have local system in place for procuring paddy produce throughout our state even as famers in rest of India are fighting for fair price and procurement for their staple produce. Conditions here point to effective measures implemented by government  to aid the  state’s agricultural sector.

Local production is set to begin, for daily medicines mandatory for organ donors, so their prices are reduced to one-fifth of what they are now, , said CM.

Inflation that soars during festival times were effectively grounded by effective interventions by the state. Kerala offers free treatment for covid to its people. Testing positivity rate reduced drastically from an earlier 18 percent to below 10 now.

Kochi water metro will be inaugurated in February. Roads and bridges that are done with works will be soon laid open for the public. New buildings will be constructed at schools, colleges and hospitals. 9 new stadiums will be built. High education system in the state will be bolstered. More primary health centres will be set up, said CM.
