Thiruvananthapuram : There is new law coming to help entrepreneurs set up business faster. “Legal Dispute Resolution System” Bill will be presented at the Assembly session slated later this month, said Industries Minister P. Rajeev.
The law aims to resolve industry related disputes through an integrated system, as much as it seeks to punish officials who might create hurdles to issue of business permits. Currently, the system of having to route permit procedures through various departments is causing considerable delay. A system will be put in place so complaints relating to any department can be resolved through a single mechanism. With law coming into force to support this, the process will get speedier and make a big difference to the ease of running business enterprise in state. The Industrial Law section has begun the work of preparing rough draft of this Bill. To usher in the change, it has been decided to present the Bill at upcoming Assembly session, the minister said.
The goal is to make business-friendly environment in state more efficient. A committee to be set up under the new law will deal with complaints from entrepreneurs and general public. The system will be set up at state and district levels. The decision of the committee shall be final and strict action will be taken against those failing to comply with it. Thus, officials will have no scope for out-of-the-way actions.
Several laws rendered obsolete, including the Factories and Boilers Act, shall be erased. The “Kerala Investment Promotion and Facilitation Act” of 2018 was LDF’s robust step toward creating industrial friendly atmosphere in the state. The government aimed to lend greater protection for business owners.
KITEX’s Self Goal; Should Not Have Insulted Homeland
KITEX’s action has been one of self-goal, said P Rajeev. The goal was netted into post of this land. Other business owners will not play along that however. It doesn’t matter where somebody sets up their business. But, it was not appropriate to have insulted land here, said the minister in a televised interview with a news channel. Findings of the inspections carried out at KITEX shall be released. The government will not retract from legal scrutiny of the matter, said P Rajeev. The Union Ministers should refrain from becoming ambassadors of portraying Kerala in poor light, the minister added.
