Thiruvananthapuram : Public Education Minister V Sivankutty said Kerala is ready to take up education for the student made to be  slapped by his classmates in UP’s Musaffarnagar. If parents are willing, the State will extend all needed assistances, the minister said.

In his letter to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the minister asked for strict action against the teacher who humiliated the student based on his communal origin.

Kerala is committed to embrace secular values. A child from riot-hit Manipur is enrolled in school here.

The State released additional text books for the Higher Secondary classes incorporating sections of India’s past, including Mughal rule and Gandhiji’s assassination, that the NCERT had cropped out of curriculum. Kerala is a State and thinks and functions progressively, the minister said.
