Thiruvananthapuram : The Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board(KIIFB), created by LDF government to help Kerala develop its basic infrastructure, celebrated its foundation day on Thursday. KIIFB was born 11 November, 1999. The state government reinforced the establishment via amendments effected in 2016. In its 22-year history, all gainful avenues of KIIFB were fully tapped in past 5 years, to bring about unparalleled development to the state.
Sanctions were granted for 918 projects at costs amounting to Rs 64,338 crores. Rs 20,000 has been marked toward land acquisitions for various industrial parks.
Other KIIFB funding projects include : 392 renovation projects costing Rs 18,146 crores; 211 roads, 20 hillside highways, start-ups, 63 railway overbridges, 6 coastal highways, one subway and 14 flyovers. Rs 2871 has been invested into the public education system. Currently in progress are renovation works to the tune of Rs 1093 crores. Rs 33,168 has been allotted to the tourism sector; Rs 773.01 has been set aside for the sports sector including for its 44 stadiums, Rs 4,458.51 crores remains in the health sector, of which Rs 15,000 crores has been spent so far, When the previous LDF government set out to strength KIIFB, then Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala described it as an impossible dream.
Blood-donation In Mark Of Of Foundation Day
KIIFB employees commemorated Foundation Day on Thursday with in a unique fashion by making blood donations. Over 125 employees contributed their blood to blood bank at Sree Chitra Institute of Medical Sciences. CEO Dr. KA Abraham, Additional CEO Satyarajan and Deputy M. D Vikramjith Singh also joined participated in the drive. Minosters KN Balagopal and PA Mohamad Riyas shared felicitations on the occasion.
