NEW DELHI : In another first, Kerala- the country’s most literate state - has topped the charts among states in promoting girls’ education. The data was released by Statistics and Program Implementation Ministry on Christmas eve.
99.5 percent of the State’s girls have completed their higher secondary education against the national average of 77.5 percent, the document read.
At least 60 percent of students are girls, in the preprimary schools of Kerala while the national average stands down to nearly half at 32.1.
The feat indicates strong foundations sown by the state’s public education system, said Minister for Education C Ravindranath.
