New Delhi : In a first for the state, Kerala University has received the highest rank in NAAC assessment scoring 3.67 points out of total 4. It also gets A++, the grade for any institution that secures 3.51 or above. This is the first time any university in Kerala has got the highest points in NACC assessment.
A peer team of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) had visited the University for its third cycle of accreditation on the 13th.
For grading purposes NAAC parameters include teaching and co-curricular activities, researarch work, extension activities and infrastructure faciliteis.
Earlier : Kerala University was first accredited in 2003 with a rating that fared at B++. Later in 2015 it was re-accredited with an A grade. That accreditation expired in 2020, meaning the university has been without accreditation since.
