Thiruvananthapuram: There is rising support for Chief Minister’s decision to provide free-of-cost vaccines for all. Contributions toward Vaccine Challenge shall be funneled into a separate account account in Chief Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund(CMDRF), said CM. And these monies shall be used exclusively for administering free vaccines, CM added. The campaign launched Thursday saw half crore rupees stream into CMDRF by same day evening. Donations swelled to Rs 1.48 core by Friday night.
The central government asked states to purchase doses from the vaccine makers paying their set prices. However govt in Kerala cannot switch to such stance and will instead stick to the independent India tradition of providing free vaccinations for all, said CM Government's promise to the people shall be upkept all costs; Incidentally, the biggest support for the cause comes from the people themselves, the minister added.
Contributions to CMDRF continue to pour in. It is a momentous time when one feels proud to be a Keralite, said CM urging for groups and organisations to join the campaign.
