KIIFB Controversy Aimed At Toppling State’s Development Efforts: CPI(M)

Thiruvananthapuram: The controversy being spun around KIIFB is aimed to derail development projects progressing tin the state, said CPI(M) State Secretariat in a statement.

Central agencies like ED, CBI, NIA, Customs and lately CAG are being catapulted to somehow wreck the state-led development missions. The agency that originally descended to investigate gold smuggling case is now all over varied state projects. They have their noses dug deep into K-Pone, E-Mobility, Toras Park and  Life Mission. In keeping with that disruptive trend, CAG has now come up with a draft report that borrowings from KIIFB is unconstitutional.

With active support from KPCC, Swadeshi Jagaran Mach - an organisation led by RSS and BJP - is at helm campaigning that KIIFB’s overseas borrowings are illegal. CAG has gone a step further in that direction, declaring all of  KIIFB’s borrowings as unconstitutional. Incidentally, CAG too has been marked as a party in the case. Congress and BJP have entered into an unholy alliance to ravage all KIIFB-funded developmental projects in the state. The exercise is aimed at robbing state-owned companies of its right to avail loans from open market.

A question arising out of all this is whether, the projects totaling 800 that are currently ongoing across each panchayat and  municipality, the construction works at public schools, upgradation of government hospitals would be able to progress further. The Opposition should become willing to produce at a shred in evidence to indicate any kind of corruption or irregularity in any of the KIIFB projects. Instead, it is actively engaged to propagate blatant lies that state government is denying CAG of its right to audit of KIIFB.

In the long drawn audit spanning eight months, CAG did  not come up on any irregularity. And when CAG was about to submit the draft matter in the matter, they claim there is no audit at KIIFB. It seems like when CAG was  unable to spot  any kind of irregularity whatsoever, they chose to declare KIIFB itself unlawful. The people of Kerala know better and are bound to dismiss such malicious propaganda.

The State Secretariat urged the people of Kerala   to defeat forces that aim to destroy KIIFB  and various developmental projects aided by it by triggering public animosity
