Thiruvananthapuram : As part of expansions for the IT research sector, KINFRA enters into MoU with world’s design technology major, Tata Elxsi. The MoU was signed by Elxsi’s Chief of Kerala Operations, V Sree Kumar, and KINFRA MD, Santhosh Koshi Thomas in the presence of Industries Minister P Rajeev.
With this, 2500 persons will gain direct employment and 1500 will avail related jobs. It is planned to create 6000 jobs in coming 5 years. The new venture will operate at KINFA’s Special Economic Zone in Kazhakuttam. There, the KINFRA building constructed using Rs 67 crore 217 lakh encompasses floor space of 2.17 lakh sq ft. of which Tata Elxsi has asked to use 2 lakh. Tata Elxsi needs another building spaced 2.5 lakh sq ft for the joint operations – a demand that KINFRA plans to meet two year’s time. In attendance at the function was also the Industries Principal Secretary Dr. K Elankovanam.
