Kochi : Of the total taken into custody over violence in Kitex at Ernakulam’s Kizhakambalum 156 more were placed under arrest Monday. 24, whose arrestes were recorded on Sunday were produced before Kolenchery court and are charged on 11 counts including charges of murder attempt. The miscreants shall be taken for gathering crime evidence based on testimonies of the injured cops, said police.
As per Remand Report, a gang of roughly 50 persons refused to heed repeated orders to disperse from the scene and instead turned against the Police Inspector(SHO) who they tried to kill.
The policemen, including Circle Inspector were wounded in the violence and are presently under treatment. The team probing the case consider that majority of the attackers comprised workers from other states.
