Kolenchery : In the case of violence perpetrated by Kitex workers Sunday night, police will send notice to the firm owner seeking CCTV footage available from the labour camp inside the premises. Evidence collection in the case will begin Thursday. Not all of the 164 remanded will not be toured to the crime scene for recording of evidence. Rather, only key culprits involved in the crime shall be taken out for evidence purposes, said police.
DGP Anil Kant said the medical expenses for treatment of injured police personnel shall be borne by the department. Their bank account details have been obtained for the purpose. The department will also undertake continued medical expenses that might needed in future, said DGP. Kannathnad SGO, VT Shajan, who suffered critical injuries, will undergo hand surgery at Kolenchery Medical College.
Meanwhile, police on Tuesday nabbed 10 more persons from the labour camp at Kizhakambalam based on incriminating evidence obtained from visuals on confiscated mobiles. They will be produced in court during the day. A total of 174 people have been arrested in the case of night violence in Kizhakambalam two days ago in which cops were assaulted and their vehicles set on fire by Kitex workers.
