Thiruvananthapuram : Land acquisitions toward Kochi – Bengaluru Industrial Corridor would be complete in month of May, said State Minister for Industries, P. Rajeev in the Assembly Wednesday.
87% percent of the total 2135 acres required for the project has been procured as of now. 69,839 MSMEs(Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) were started since 2016 and 12,443 are expected to take-off in the coming year, the Minister said.
There is no need to amend our Land Reforms Act. 5 percent of the acquired land can be utilised for other purposes. Existing law allows for cultivation of fruit crops. That will pan out once the Plantation Directorate is established, the Minister said responding to query from PS Supal.
